Like the first book of the series, I really liked this one. That said... The stupidity of people!! It's normal for everyone to have things that need to be overcome and gotten over before they can move on but the way the main heroine, Isabel, handled things - or more accurately, the way she avoided handling them - really annoyed me at times! She kept making her life and the life of those concerned (the hero for example, Nicholas) way more difficult that it needed to be just because she had put labels on people and was certain that everyone would just fall under the same category as those who hurt her. Yes, we get it, people have the ability to hurt you. We also get that you're a big girl and don't need anyone(riiiight!). Will you stop acting like a brat already and get over your insecurities and move the hell on? After the rant, the only other thing that kind of nagged me a little was the fact that the author kept repeating some phrases over and over. They may have not been very close to one another but they were certainly there and I do not enjoy repetitions. And among those repetitions are Isabel's thoughts and reasons for acting like a brat, but I already mentioned those so that's done. Apart from that, I enjoyed the book and the fact that the characters are flawed (obviously :P) and more or less realistic. I won't comment on the fact that the couple were desperately in love with one another after the shocking period of *gasp* a week (it may have been even less now that I think about it...), since it was a different time then and people were funny that way - what with marrying being the first and foremost thing in her minds and women being all tolerant to any faults their respective husbands may have if they're rich enough to allow them their lifestyle of luxury and absolute uselessness. Looking forward to reading Juliana's story - the differences between her and her love interest, the stuck up Duke of Leighton, should make their story a fun one.
