Harry Potter serisini bir bütün olarak seviyorum, ancak bireysel kitapları o kadar da değil. PoA kesinlikle serinin en iyilerinden biri. Ama 5'i tercih ederim.

Bu kitaba kolayca beş yıldız verebileceğimi düşünüyorum, ancak direnmem gerektiğini düşünüyorum çünkü kitap çok iyi yazılmış olmasına rağmen zaman zaman çok genç ve açıklamalarında basit olabilir. Bunu seviyorum ama Davinci Kodu gibi değil. Davinci Kod farklı bir şey. ama bu oldukça iyi. üzerinde harcadığınız zamana değer. ama belki de önce onu okumak ve Davinci kodunu atmak daha iyidir. bu şekilde Robbert Langdon ve Davinci Kodunda okuduğunuz bazı noktalar hakkında bilgi sahibi olacaksınız.

I adored this book. It made me think (actually, it kind of turned my mind into a pretzel). It also made me sob in a way I haven't since Fievel got stuck on that piece of soap (my mother would understand what I mean here, as she had to cart me out of the theater). I recommend this novel to anyone--it's got fantasy and romance but is never trashy.

Beautifully written account of what life was like for people of my parents generation.

I wanted to love this book. I did, really. I just couldn't. It was stark, bleak, and pessimistic, true, which wouldn't necessarily have killed it for me if I thought he had genuinely interesting things to say. As it was, he had some intriguing story lines, so he got a three, but the insight/exceptional creativity/brilliant command of language that I was hoping for never really materialized. People whose literary opinion I respect absolutely loved this book; maybe you're one of them. Frankly, I don't see what the fuss was all about. Please discuss.

(Reserving judgement on TMiaHM as I haven't re-read it yet.) Which I not to say that it's a perfect piece of work. The things that make a lot of Heinlein's later work deeply annoying are all here - the cringingly awful dialogue, the gender stereotyping, the know-it-all Author's Voice character - but somehow not as bad as they later became; the targets of his humour in politics, religion and society are fairly well chosen and to a certain extent still relevant; and Valentine Michael Smith is actually rather fascinating as a concept - we're in the territory of Candide and Rasselas, but with Martians offstage. Heinlein must have been a bit surprised that his libertarian parable spiced up with sex and aliens became popular with the counter-culture of the later sixties, but readers do not always take away what writers think they are bringing to a work.
