I hadn't realized that this is much more a children's book than the other books I've read by Lois Lowry so far, so the first few chapters were spent readjusting my expectations. I'm glad I didn't know though, because I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had, and it's a very, very sweet story. I read it in one sitting and loved how hopeful it was. One of those books that I'm already looking forward to reading aloud to my own kids.

wow a John Grisham book with a decent ending! He is getting better at writing endings. While the book is a bit overdone in my opinion, it is a quick read and i enjoyed it a lot.
