i like i should read these in order or does it make a difference?

I did not like this book. The author writes these pretentious metaphors that cry out "Look at me! Aren't I a great and wondrous writer? I'm oh so clever!" I figured out the surprise ending by the second chapter. The wife actually writes the books of her award winning husband. So it was annoying to go through the entire book waiting for the truth to come out. No surprise ate all.
