it was funny at first, but the joke got old. Also, some info was just wrong i.e. white people love Victorian writers such as Jane Austen. Yes, I do love Jane Austen & I guess I like some Victorian writers, but mostly I am just white enough to know what is wrong with that idea.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Gabaldon left us teetering on the edge of several cliff hangers with this one. Also, surprisingly enough, no one was raped and/or tortured in this one which left me feeling quite relieved (although there was kidnapping). Although I usually find myself liking Brianna's character, she kind of rubbed me the wrong way in this book. I felt she was a bit over critical of Rodger in his time of soul searching and confusion. For heaven's sake woman he has gone back and forward in time with you, faced death and more, and you expect him to pop back into the 20th century and go on with life per usual! It was somewhat easy for her to pick up where she left off but Rodger couldn't do that. His former scholarly career was over, the singing career over, the religous career left in serious doubt... most of what they experienced could have driven others to madness! (view spoiler) Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and my only other beef would be the William POV sections were slightly this side of boring, although I did enjoy some of his interactions, others were kind of dull and I missed their relevance.
