A wonderful coming-of-age tale that sweeps you right along with Marjorie through the ups and downs of her tumultuous, rebellious life through the 30's, 40's and 50's.
A great book about how we as humans interact in our societies. It helped to articulate some of the thoughts I've had about the subject. It approaches man as an animal and observes it as such. A fascinating book.
This is impressing me, I'm discerning with my fantasy books. Guy Gavriel Kay has spoiled me for too long. That being said? I enjoy cheesy fantasy as much as the next man, but it is seldom, and I mean seldom, that someone tries to make something NEW. This is new, it isn't Tolkien, it isn't dungeons and dragons, it isn't Elves Wizards and Dwarves. So far? I'm impressed. Eh, kind of an interesting concept but lost me by the end, unfortunately. I'd only buy it in PB, and only for a beach read
