it was a good book but super sad!!!!!!! how all of her fathers died and how her mom killed herself!!!!!! she was really strong to be able to go on the way she did and how she took care of her little brother!!! i think though that she should of married Uber though or thats what i would have done, he was really nice to her and u could tell he cared for her a lot!!!!!!!!

I first read this book in 2003. Practically finished in one sitting I told everyone I met to read this book. I lent it out, lost many copies along the way and always was sure to buy a replacement. Now 5 years later I decided to read it again for fun. I have this idea I will enjoy a book so much more the second time around...but for some reason I remember books far too fondly than they deserve. I would still give this book five stars ad I will still continue to recommend it. There is still a nagging feeling of something I did not like about this book the second time around...perhaps its just a child's narrative. I need a little vacation from it....

this is a hugely funny, laugh-out-loud book that every woman who made it through her childhood should read.
