The story of an exceedingly private and shy man who could have been famous for his talents but decided against it. There is a great contrast between the views of the protagonist and the obesession with celebrity you encounter daily and therefore acts as a piece of social criticism without preaching. There are also many very lovely stories and ideas within the plot which make it a greatly enjoyable read.
Very poignant, thoughtful and philosophical. Not a light read, but very well thought out.
