Yawn. Now that he's reverted Artemis to a more complex character, he has to put the petulant voice into the villain. Do even kids like such simplistic characters over and over again? (6)
I read this book cover to cover and put it down less than five times before finishing it. This is also a very different and interesting look at the emotional effects of the 9/11 attacks on a child whose parent was lost. I (like many) feel very uncomfortable with the morbid curiosity and gross desire to capitalise on fear after 9/11, but this book really has nothing to do with patriotism or fear or revenge. It is a sensitive look at loss through the eyes of a little boy.
This is a wonderfully happy book. For some reason it made me think of fall. Which is fitting since fall is right around the corner. I'm glad I stepped out of my box and read this book. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it :)
