Gerçekten sevdiğim tek Hemingway romanı. Hemingway'in parçalanmış nesirleri sık sık sinirlerime takılıyor, ancak bu durumda, gerçekten iyi çalıştı.
I grew up on this surreal work of art and fable. This book, and others like from that generation, entirely shaped how I perceive the world. To the day I break it out every few years and admire its pages. Hunt down the '78 publication, if able... It's worth the extra $$!
This book has an amazing plot and if I was rating purely on that I'd give it five stars easy, but I like my books to have a bit more flourished language than this one. I like taking away quotes from books and remembering paragraphs because of their beautiful phrasing. This book didn't really have that. Half an hour after I finished it I couldn't even remember what language I read it in... It's, quite frankly, a book for teenagers. The backup characters feels a bit flat and unsympathetic, one death in particular could have been heart-wrenching to read about but it just wasn't. But all in all, it is a great book and a joy to read.
