This book is very well-written. Each chapter is told from a different point of view than the previous one, and at first I found this switch of narrators jarring, but after I got used to it, I liked the variety. It's a tragic story, but I was able to sympathize with all the characters because Truman Capote's writing conveyed everyone's side. I appreciated the journalistic research that went into the book, and I liked how he subtly semi-inserted himself into the novel toward the end.

I ended up really liking the character of Dorothea a lot here. She represents the best of what we can aspire to - a strong sense of knowing oneself and passionate joy in serving others.
