A rather nifty story of the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn in sixties London, dealing with vampires. Some nasty violence though.

I love that this book deals with a provocative subject, but that the writing has such a light touch. We see the characters, who would not have been seen as human beings in the "outside world" of this novel, growing up and going to school as if they were normal teenagers. Which is really what they are - except they have a much bleaker future than most kids growing up in the 70s and 80s did. Without being preachy or sanctimonious, this book is a great reminder that we should respect all living things, because being alive doesn't necessarily mean more to a "normal", healthy human being than it does to anyone else.
