"Middlesex" is one of my favorite books that I read in 2004. I love Eugenide's writing. The story of Calliope the hermaphrodite and the history of her Greek family was unlike most of the other tales that I read that year.

Life changing. Totally redefined my concepts of development, economics, and freedom. Must read for those interested in development, international relations, or life.

You must be very interested in modern military to like this book. Well written.
