I found this book to be written in an obscure way. There were times when the reader just had to assume what happened, as it wasn't written in word. The plot was good. However, the unsolved mystery which was the center of the book, was frustrating. The characters and their relationships with one another were realistic and modern. They, each of them, moved the reader to some extent in all mixed emotions. All-in-all a good read and my first of this author.
This book was "amazing" because it made me want to quit everything else and just read it. I got through it in about 4 days. Really fast read with great intertwining of characters and plot and a fun story to be involved in. Good writing. A few swear words at random parts of the book that were unnecessary but not many.
I am learning something about how to write by studying Larry Brown's characters and their manner of speaking. His internal dialogues are also most excellent and entertaining. As with The Rabbit Factory, I love how the story comes around full circle in a quietly profound way.
