This is a very good book about the mystery surrounding the parentage of a little girl who arrives in Australia early in the 20th century. The story also takes place in modern day and in the 1970's, as various people attempt to solve this mystery over the years. It is very romantic and mysterious and I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend it to everyone. There is nothing objectionable! March 2012 I just finished re-reading this book and I think I loved it even more the second time around. The language of the book is so gorgeous and rich and the characters are so beautifully imagined! I love this book!

It was hilarious, yet had serious moments and some revealing truths.
