Oh my gosh...this one made me bawl like a baby (granted, I wasn't very old the first time I read it).

I loved that this was a personal narrative of Ondaatje, and the life he lived while growing up in Sri Lanka. It is also very interesting to see the personal side of the political struggles that took place during the war there. He writes with humor and insight here.
