Brooklyn is teaching bookbinding classes at the BABA, where she is also restoring books for the director. Brooklyn and the director have a few words about the director's misrepresentation of the restored book. Later, another teacher is hurt. The next day after the opening of a new exhibit in BABA, the director is fund dead - by Brooklyn and a couple of her students.

4.5 stars With a tough heroine and action-packed plot, The Demon Trapper's Daughter is creative and engaging novel. The character development is excellent, as well as the world-building; Oliver's writing flows well and feels so realistic. One of my favorite things about the novel was that it didn't focus on romance; rather, it revolved more around tragedy, intrigue, and mystery. My only problem was the lack of information about how on earth demons had infiltrated the world, but otherwise the novel was pretty solid.
