I liked this book that is written as a journal by Cassandra, the main character. Her father is a writer but has only written one book that was a big success but now the money has run out and she and her family live in a run down castle in England and barely have enough food to eat. A new family moves in to town with 2 brothers, Simon & neil. Cassandra's sister Rose is determined to marry one of them and escape this poverty.

It's been quite a few months since I read this book, so I hesitate to try to review it any great detail. I will tell you this--what I do remember about Fallen is painful. Extrememly painful. I have to be honest: I think I was taken in by the pretty cover. It's so pretty . . . Unfortunately for me (and anyone else who likes to judge a book by its cover), the cover is a vast misrepresentation of what is to follow. Why, why, why must so many authors try desperately to recreate Twilight?? Terrible writing, a girl obsessed with a good-looking boy who wants nothing to do with her (and of course, isn't human), a love that isn't meant to be . . . or is it? You know I hate these female characters who can do nothing but flutter helplessly around doing absolutely NOTHING with their lives but trying endlessly to be with the hunky, dark, and mysterious boy who seems to hate her for some reason. And then, the story is just stupid. And silly. Oh, and nothing actually happens in it! There is literally NO plot. So why, you may be asking, did I go ahead and read this book against the better advice of my friends? I think we've all learned a lesson here in book cover deception.
