This was a book chosen by our book group for this month. Can I just say that I am grateful for books on CD, because I tried to read the first paragraph and felt overwhelmed just pronouncing all the names! So . . .I quilted and listened. About the first fourth of the book was slow for me to get into (kind of like a cross between Isaiah and Shakespeare!). BUT, I persevered and came away quite delighted with the stories and legends of middle earth. Many question about the Lord of the Rings were answered in all of the history and genealogy. Fascinating!

I really enjoyed this book. It is brutally honest, and has some very funny parts.
