The premise was extremely promising- can a person taste the emotions and actual parts of foods? I went in with great expectations, but it was like eating Grandma's carrot cake without Grandma's frosting. Initially the premise was well developed and Rose was likeable and interesting. But, then the author veered off into a brother storyline, a mother having an affair storyline, a dad that's a workaholic storyline, and then at the end the story winds around back to Rose's unusual ability and what she chooses to do with it. I found the writing choppy and the lack of punctuation didn't make it "creative" for me; rather it made it seem like I was reading a story written by an inexperienced young writer.
