First thing I noticed about the book "Olivia" by Ian Falconer was the the illustrations were all black and white and used the color red to emphasize things in each picture. I also really like how shadowing was used in the illustrations as well. I also found it very interesting that the author used actual famous artwork in his illustrations when Olivia took a trip to a museum. The format of the story is very random; sometimes using short sentences broken up across the page and other times using one long sentence for two pages of illustration.
