i love poetry i remember when i was a little kid i used to have my mom read it to me every night even though a lot of them i didnt understand the meaning behind it so yeah but then i actually read it again when i was older and i got the actual meaning of it! it was fun pointing out all of the old stories i loved as a kid!

i really like this book. which makes me have to admit that i have a thing for Chuck Palahniuk. i hated Fight Club so much; i was obsessed with hating it- but maybe i need to reexamine that... i didn't really ever believe that the main character in Invisible Monsters was who she said she was, i couldn't help but hear her voice as the voice of Edward Norton. but i think it's forgivable and even works. this is a nice compliment to Geek Love and even to The Condition: mutilation of the body/self-mutilation/being a visible freak -or-having a visible physical disability/the spotlight/POWER/ power dynamics/being real through being seen.... i like how it took queer gender/trans identities at face value/as a given/as real/as normal.... i enjoyed the narration, the camp, and the drama, sometimes it seemed over-the-top, but in the end over-the-top is the point.
