Sideways Stories From Wayside School was one of my favorite books growing up, and Holes was one of my husband's. I'd never read it, so I picked it up and was not disappointed. Quirky yet clever, just like I remember Sachar's other books being when I read them as a child. I'm happy to have added this to my reading education.

Good book

Fantastic story that twists the lives of the characters until you feel like you are a part of their decisions and outcomes. Don't be afraid of the size...it's amazing. You truly wonder what could possibly happen next as it's full of unimaginable plots. Set back in the day, it reads like a historical fiction. I've read this several times as well as all of my family members.
