david sedaris is a great writer. i have to say, my expectations were really high, and i think i was a little let down, but as you progress through the book, you come to appreciate his subtlety. the way he works in totally ridiculous, over-the-top, hilarious statements very quietly. there are some geniusly comedic moments in here, and overall, a great, fun, post-epic-novel-reading read.
