A lovely coming of age book. Beautifully written, fun story, good for reflection. My 11 y.o. daughter loved it, too, especially the part where she says, "It's better to be fooled a hundred times than to never look." The main character comes up against the question of being fooled throughout the book, and learns that she shouldn't necessarily believe all the adults around her, but at the same time recognizes the joys it can bring to her life if she's willing to look.

I read most of these stories several years ago. I would recommend this story as well. An easy but enjoyable read.
