This is a great, great book. Honest, raw and devastating. I loved the characters, loved their depth. The author's style is simply amazing, captivating, simply put, the real thing (at least for me). I will carry this story in my heart for a very long time and look upon life with different eyes.
Tina Fey in Tina Fey's own voice is fantastic. No one else could read this, I'm convinced, with Fey's nuance that helped make this book such a delight. Fey realizes that she was playing in a male-dominated field and wants the rules to be the same for her as they are for any male. She's done a great job so far.
Speechless. What a story.
a solid, though at times uneven (some were unalluring) collection of short prose from one of my favorite (to-date) short story writers. Highlights for me include: "Man-Eating Cats" A Poor Aunt Story" and "Chance Traveler" If I were forced to isolate a theme among these 24 stories, I would say that many of them dealt with loss and isolation. Murakami's one of the best writers living today and I really dig his style. I can't wait to get into his latest novel....
