Book was ok... not one of his best... but way better than Dear John. Now that i've moved to North Carolina, it's really interesting to read the details he goes into for each town in his books, as they almost all of them are set in one of the small coastal towns of NC.

I struggled through a good chunk of this book. Parts of it were extremely drawn out and I couldn't stand any of the present day storyline. It did nothing to enhance the story and it seemed its only purpose was to allow the author to rant about his distaste for the Reagan administration. That being said, the last 150 pages or so really picked up for me and I was blown away by the ending. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it!
