I guess it's time I start actually adding some thoughts to these things, eh? If you're looking for fun, quick reads, you can't go wrong with Stieg Larsson's "Girl" series. I find these more enjoyable than your standard Dan Brown/James Patterson fare (though I must admit I liked the first book quite a bit more than the second), with similar thriller aspects, but better stories/characters. It should be said that it's likely that something gets lost in the translation from Swedish to English (some dialogue can be downright corny and clunky), but it doesn't get in the way of the overall enjoyment of the book. Lastly, it's about time a series of books featuring a kick-ass girl antihero found its way into the public eye, and Lisbeth Salander is as self-reliant, off-putting, foul-mouthed, nonconformist, and badass as they come.
