Bu kitabı 6.sınıf dili sanat dersimde kullanıyorum çünkü inanılmaz. İlginç bir komployu sürdürürken, pek çok meseleyle (ırkçılık, spor dini, şiddet, diğer Kızılderili sorunları) ustalıkla mücadele ediyor. Belki de çok şey yapmaya çalışır, ama böyle bir şey gözden kaçırmak kolay bir suçtur. Bu kitabı 2 saat içinde kolayca okuyabilirsiniz ve muhtemelen okumalısınız.

Bu kitabı üniversitedeki Amerikan Etnik Edebiyat dersim için okudum. Uzun zamandan beri bir kafa almak için yaz boyunca okumaya başladım, ama bu gerçekten olmadı. Kitaba başlarken biraz zorlandım, çünkü anlatıcı nerede ve kim olduğunu gerçekten anlamadım. Hikayeyi anlatmaya başladıktan sonra kitabı çok beğendim. Bence profesörüm buna gerçekten yardımcı oldu. Ana karakterin dersini asla öğrenmediğini veya kitabın kısa süreceğini söylediğini hatırlıyorum. Asla sonunu hiç okumadığımı düşünüyorum! Aman tanrım, hmmmm. Belki de yapmalıyım. Ayrıca bu kitapla gurur duyduğum bir makale de yazdım. Profesörümün sonun aceleye geldiğini yazdığını hatırlıyorum ve sonunda okumadığımı düşündüm, çünkü okumadım!

This was, without a doubt, the best and funniest book I was ever required to read in high school.

Simply, wonderfully, touching.

Very fun read. Again, not as clean as her YA books but would probably get a PG-13 movie rating. The love story was not to my liking but I was happy with how it turned out. The ending left you wanting more so I'm anxious to continue this series.

Really enjoyed this book. The characters are very real in their struggles, joys and sorrows. Beautiful piece of writing.

Finished. Truly a fun read. Forrester captures the essence of Hornblower - I am a bit miffed why he took the tack he did with Hornblower's wife? However, it is interesting to see him seemingly becoming more receptive and warmer to her affections; he appears tolerant to someone wholeheartedly dedicated to him...I am wondering why etc? And, is Hornblower going to imitiate the great Lord Nelson later in life? Time will tell I suppose. Interesting continuation of Hornblower's life...he's growing in self-esteem, trust and gaining confidence in himself and those around him. Moving in larger circle within the Admiralty...engrossing. Fortunate to have one who champions his career, but with Cornwallis' retirement at the end of this volume...I know Hornblower must continue the upward path - but - how is the question at this point. The other question is what happens to Hornblower's wife and children?
