I'm reading this along side 'A People's History of the United States'. It's great. This book is composed of diary entries and newspaper articles and speeches from our distant past and recent history. 'Hearing' everyday, sometimes unknown people's voices from so long ago allows you to connect with them as real people - their desires and hopes are ours.
The stories in this book are awe-inspiring, and a true testament to God's providence. I enjoyed them all, and even though the writing bordered on cheesy, the book accomplished the authors intent, which was to encourage and inspire families interested in the possibility of adoption.
