Oddly, I never read this book in high school so I'm so glad that I finally got around to it now. Ellison's prose is just so good. I finished the book a couple of months ago but still have some of his phrases floating around in my head.

It took me awhile to get into this book. I picked up up and put it down twice, before finally the 3rd time is a charm. The reviews were glowing so I stuck with it and am glad I did. Quite a story of family ties, much heartbreak, and wonderful information about places I've never heard of in Africa. I think this would be an awesome book to listen to, with all it's medical terminology, foreign places, names and different accents to listen to!
