This was my favorite book that I read last year. Chuck Klosterman is the Kerouac of my generation. His insight into music, relationships, culture, and celebratory supplements are finely tuned, investigated, and pondered. Chuck has entered my heroes list on my MySpace profile.

If I could give this book four and a half stars I would! Four stars just doesn’t seem like enough but at the same time I hesitate to give it five stars. It was one of the better books from the Arcane series by Quick/Krentz that I have read. I have enjoyed all of them but this one I enjoyed more. The characters were very interesting. I usually enjoy reading Amanda Quick’s novels because her heroines are usually quite entertaining. Lucinda was no disappointment. Her psychic power was unique as was her reason for “ruin” in Society’s eyes. It was also nice to read about Caleb’s power knowing that a Jones in the modern books/future has the same power to see patterns and connect the dots. It makes me interested to read a book about that future Jones to see if his own personal life is as affected by his power. I love that Amanda Quick/Jayne Anne Krentz is writing books that all intertwine. I find each new layer to the story of the Arcane Society and the Jones family to be interesting. I will continue to read future books in the series!
