Just read the whole thing (what there is of it) for the first time. Ten years ago I would have been masochistic enough to try to do the whole thing in Middle English, but of the translations I looked at Coghill's was by far the most faithful one to be in verse. Yes, there are certainly duds, but I'm love with the interactions of tales and tellers, and I'm bummed that I only got to teach it once.

This book has pictures that I have rarely seen in books on China or Chinese Art. Although there is not anything new that struck me, this was well worth waiting for (on inter-library loan).
