I just couldn't get into this book. It is very long winded and none of the characters are very likable--not that that's what makes a good book. I didn't feel like the story was going anywhere. 100 pages in and I had to put it down. I almost never stop reading a book once I've started but this book just wasn't worth my time.
Very Very interesting book.
Cuttin for Stone was a sheer joy to read! It is the story of twin boys and their misfit family formed by staff at a hospital located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The book is about family, disappointment, shame, childhood, healthcare, disparity, friendship, loyalty and love. Verghese’s writing is beautiful and he has created characters that I want to spend hours and hours of my time with.
