It started out pretty well, ranking high on the "laugh out loud" scale. But somewhere toward the middle the laughing out loud stopped. It was like the authors tried too hard to make it laugh out loud -- getting hit over the head too many times with puns just gets boring. The ending got a bit confusing -- too much of a jumble to really sort out how they wrapped it all up. Gaiman needs to stick to the semi-creepy stuff he does best.
HG Wells is a very good writer, and "prophetic" about the world we live in.
A timeclass classic addressing the struggles b/w the generations, b/w ethnicities b/w immigrants and older families and the values that get scrambled in-between. Great character studies as well. A classic for a reason.
