In Lover unbound we get to learn more about Vishious and his life before the brotherhood. We learn about his past in a warrior camp, as the son of a brutal father, the Bloodletter. The book also follows John through his transition, Phury in his self-medicated depression, and introduces a new character Cormia and reveals her role in "re-populating" the brotherhood ranks. There are also revelations made about the Scribe Virgin that I don't think anyone could see coming. I didn't really like what happens to V's love interest Jane, it's just so...odd. But It is nice that the relationship still works out. I've said this before about other books and its the same for J.R. Ward, I love when authors can have more then one story going in a book, without the reader becoming confused. Up next Lover Enshrined. :)
