This book makes me mad. The topic is outstanding--a really interesting family, good source material, exciting events. And yet, the writing is so very bad, the conclusions so ho-hum. I wish Claire Tomalin had gotten her hands on this topic first.

The first of Moore's vampire love story trilogy. I definitely will be picking up the remaining two books of the trilogy. Moore is an intoxicating read - I just couldn't put this one down. I was actually "jonesing" to read it (not as much as the Sookie books, but still, it was a craving).

Enjoyed this series!

Not bad....good enough to keep me reading. I am a very loyal fan of Anne Perry. This seems to mimic her, but doesn't hit the mark on good writing. There is too much of the "romance novel" feeling. I probably wouldn't read any more of these....

Great book and an insightful look at what motherhood can and cannot overcome. Very interesting in framework of 'Nature v. Nurture'.
