Atwood is brilliant, as usual.
This book was an easy read and quite informative. It gives you some perspective on being 90 years old and in a nursing home. It also gives you some history of the way circus's made there way through the country and the people that performed in them.
Although I was not expecting such a great part of this novel to be about the Australians who went to Vietnam, this was integral to the plot. It's almost like two different Courtenay books put together...not bad, but with different feels to them. Courtenay's humour is gently played throughout, and, as always, he knows how to make me smile or elicit a tear. I'm going to miss him!
