I really liked this book. The characters were great! Love the time period too.

This book is a series of letters sent between the various characters in the book. It starts a little slow and requires a little effort to sort out the characters because of the letter format, but eventually picks up. I found all the themes in the book: Holocaust, caring for children, and even the romance very appealing. I especially enjoyed how Shaffer was able to use different writing styles for each of the characters.
