This is such a well written and thoughtful book on a topic we don't like to usually talk about. I actually had Dr. Nuland as a professor my freshman year, and he gave me a copy of the book to read, because he knew I was interested in bioethics. The book goes through the medical aspects of death and then covers the political, cultural and emotional aspects of it. While a very depressing subject, it's still a great book to read to understand these issues (which people my age don't really try to understand.)
