In Super in the City by Daphne Uviller, Zephyr Zimmerman takes over as the super of her parent’s Greenwich Village apartment after the previous super was taken away in handcuffs. Typical daughter/mother story: single mother loves/smothers daughter, daughter rebels with "bad boy" boyfriend, jeapordizing her college future. Nothing new or interesting here except for the "absent father" character (who left his family to sell all of his possessions and join a religious/celebrity cult.
