I saw this book in the library and picked it up on a whim. I admit when I saw the movie I found myself having trouble following it, maybe because I saw it on DVD so I was distracted. I thought the book might have helped me make more sense of it. And it did, to an extent, but I still often found myself with that same feeling of "Wait, who is this? What's happening now?" This is the main impression I take away from the book, much like the main impression I took away from the movie. I couldn't say it was a bad book; I think McCarthy's style might just have that effect on me and not on others.
