The subject matter of this book is pretty heavy--a teenage girl's older brother goes missing. The reader experiences the panic and despair that her family feels. I liked the narration of the high school girl and definitely felt for her. The book was written well and that made for an enjoyable read.

This is a fantastic book about the people of the world who struggle for survival. It takes place in India, where I had been living for nearly a year by the time I read it, and it speaks to the injustices that have gone and continue to go on in that place, as in many other places throughout the world. The circumstances can be painful, but the tone is full of hope.
