I found this book to be a little disappointing. It was still exciting, with lots of plot twists and adventure to keep you reading, but the problem for me was the main character, Tally. One of the cool things about these books was watching how Tally developed and changed through each book, reinventing herself and discovering who she was. By the end of Uglies, I really liked Tally and could relate with her. By the end of Pretties, I liked her even more, she'd grown so strong and sure of herself. But in Specials, she becomes entirely unlikeable. I found myself missing the Tally of the last two books and wishing she would come back. Although she sort of did by the end of the book, it was too little to overcome 350 pages of an unlikeable main character. In fact, by the end, there was only one character who I still really liked (who hadn't disappeared completely), and his story gets ruined too. Having said that, this was still a great series and I'm glad I read it. There's a fourth book, Extras, but it's not about Tally and her friends and I'm not sure if I'll read it.
