i read jane eyre for the first time as a 14 yr old, and it was such a different experience a decade later. i certainly related more to Jane this time around. she's so imperfect and eloquent, and her earnest moral compass and keen insights made me love her and ache for her too.

I credit this book with starting my love of pioneer stories. Diary books are some of my favorite and this one tops them all. It is written for a young audience so keep that in mind. This will always be a favorite, and I recently passed it on to my niece. She is 8 and she loved it, so take that as a more age appropriate stamp of approval.
