I really wanted to love this one. It has a wonderful premise, the artwork is fantastic and engaging, but it just didn't take me away like I feel it should have. It was a good story, and fairly well told, but I just couldn't get to the point where I couldn't put it down. Instead I read several other books (including The Stand at 1500 pages)before I finished this one. I do, however, believe this book will find a rapt audience with children who love a good story told in easy to manage chunks.
