Interesting side note: this book came to me highly touted as HIGHlarious, and indeed it was. I finished the book and, by extreme coincidence, was given the opportunity to see the play adaptation in London. Um, Texan teenage angst, delving into the gay taboo, the obese taboo and numerous references to the American media done on a British stage? Just wonky and wrong on so many levels, and in the end just *yawn*. But the book still kicks major ass.
