Enclave is a story about a post apocalyptic world. We do not know until late in the story what has happened to the world and even then we are only given vague details. We first meet Deuce on her naming day, meaning that she has survived childhood and will be given a name instead of being referred to as a number. Deuce has been trained to be a huntress and she will be responsible for bringing food back to the enclave where she lives with other survivors underground. Deuce is assigned to Fade as a hunting partner. He came to live in the Enclave as an outsider, he was not born there and because of that faces distrust from those around him. I loved the dynamics between Deuce and Fade. She has only ever known the Enclave so she blindly followers the rules based on what she has been taught. Fade has known another way and attempts to open her world up to more than the underground society. This was a quick read for me and I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters and cared about what happened to them. Post Apocalyptic and dystopian genre books are really becoming my favorites. This one is a great addition to that. I would recommend this one to fans of either genre. BOTTOM LINE: INTERESTING CHARACTERS IN A VERY INTERESTING SETTING, I AM EXCITED TO READ THE NEXT IN THE SERIES.
