fairly galloping into an early dotage, roth pauses to hide behind zuckerman hiding behind the tissue-paper cut-out swede, the feeblest streak of piss to pass for a leading man since the unholy day matthew morrison sat down with the producers of glee. unlike other reviewers i find roth's writing as technically beautiful as ever, but the content is politically and philosophically risible. i will forever see him as a conservative mirror image of aaron sorkin - currently ensconced in his snug little NewsWomb - the pair of them happily taking on counter-arguments provided they come from the one-dimensional halfwits they themselves have created, like little boys tossing up wiffle balls and whacking them into their backyards' imaginary bleachers.

In high school, I did a research paper on F.Scott, this book would have been helpful then, although I based my research more on his novels, but alas, I enjoyed this book very much. I seem to have found a kindred spirit in Zelda Fitzgerald, both good and bad. I wish I could live such a life...
