I LOVED this book!!! Very light hearted reading. Would love to see a movie of this book!!!

This book was a challenge to read ~ hard to find the rythym of writing, and a lot of unfamiliar terminology. Mid-way through I felt I got it, and then found myself backing up and re-reading some passages I'd found confusing the first go round. By then the quirky characters had taken hold in my imagination and I was better able to lose myself in the story. Can't say I felt the ending resolved everthing, but that's what book clubs are for. Gordon's mastery of language makes this an enjoyable and informative read; a quick skim after-read helped me to appreciate the structure of the book. I think it's worth a second read, and will do so as soon as the waiting list at the library shortens a bit.

Unexciting. Not particularly well-written--not bad, but not well enough to make up for the uninteresting story. A disappointment, since I did enjoy Atonement.
